Are You Truly Saved? Embracing the Fullness of Salvation

When we think about salvation, what comes to mind? For many, it's the promise of eternal life - the assurance that our souls will be with God after we leave this earthly realm. But what if that's only a fraction of what salvation truly encompasses? What if we've been settling for just a quarter of the incredible gift Jesus secured for us on the cross?

Today, let's explore a challenging question: Are you truly saved?

This isn't about questioning your faith or your relationship with God. Rather, it's an invitation to dive deeper into the fullness of what salvation means according to Scripture. The Greek word "sozo," which is often translated as "saved" in the Bible, carries a much richer meaning than we often realize.

It encompasses four key aspects:
  1. Eternal Life
  2. Physical Healing
  3. Mental, Emotional, and Spiritual Freedom
  4. Power over Poverty

Let that sink in for a moment. The same blood that purchased our eternal life also bought our physical healing, our total freedom, and our victory over lack. Yet, how often do we live as if only the first aspect - eternal life - is available to us now?

In Acts 2:21, we read, "And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." This isn't just about securing our place in heaven. It's a promise of comprehensive salvation that touches every area of our lives - here and now.

Isaiah 53:4-5 paints a vivid picture of what Jesus accomplished on the cross:
"Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering...he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed."

This passage speaks of physical healing, emotional peace, and freedom from sin - all secured by Jesus' sacrifice. The apostle Peter echoes this truth in 1 Peter 2:24, reminding us that "by his wounds you have been healed." Notice the past tense - it's already done!
So why do we often struggle to experience the fullness of this salvation? Perhaps we've been conditioned to lower our expectations, to settle for less than what God intends. We've accepted doctrines that push the supernatural aspects of faith to the sidelines, deeming them too controversial or difficult to understand.

But what if God is calling us to a higher standard? What if He's inviting us to step into the fullness of what Jesus secured for us?

Consider Psalm 103:2-3: "Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits—who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases." Here we see forgiveness and healing intertwined, both presented as benefits of our relationship with God.
When it comes to financial provision, 2 Corinthians 8:9 offers a powerful perspective: "For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich." This isn't about promoting a "prosperity gospel," but rather understanding that God desires to break the power of poverty over our lives.

So how do we begin to walk in this fullness? It starts with renewing our minds through God's Word. We need to challenge the limiting beliefs that have held us back and align our thinking with what Scripture actually says about our salvation.

Here are some practical steps we can take:
  1. Study the Scriptures: Dive deep into passages that speak about healing, freedom, and provision. Let God's Word reshape your understanding of what's available to you in Christ.
  2. Speak God's Truth: The Bible says in Proverbs 18:21 that "death and life are in the power of the tongue." Start declaring God's promises over your life. Speak to your body, your mind, and your circumstances, aligning them with what God says.
  3. Step Out in Faith: Don't wait for everything to make sense before you act. Sometimes, our experience needs to catch up to the truth we're believing. Keep pressing forward, even when you don't see immediate results.
  4. Surround Yourself with Faith: Find a community of believers who are also pursuing the fullness of salvation. Encourage one another and hold each other accountable to God's higher standard.
  5. Be Patient and Persistent: Renewing your mind is a process. It might take days, months, or even years to fully grasp and walk in these truths. Don't give up!

Remember, this isn't about mustering up more faith or trying harder. It's about receiving what Jesus has already secured for us. Just as we received eternal life by grace through faith, we can receive healing, freedom, and provision the same way.
Imagine what could happen if we, as the Body of Christ, began to fully embrace and walk in the totality of our salvation. How might it transform our families, our communities, and even our world?

Let's draw a line in the sand today. Let's commit to no longer settling for a partial gospel or a watered-down version of what Jesus accomplished. Instead, let's press in to know and experience the fullness of our salvation.

Are you truly saved? Yes - more than you may have realized. Now it's time to live like it.

As we close, let this truth resonate in your spirit: The same cross that guarantees your eternity with God has also secured your healing, your freedom, and your victory over lack. Will you receive it? Will you step into the fullness of what it means to be saved?

May we, like the early disciples, become known as those who turn the world upside down with the power of the full gospel. Let's live as people who are truly, fully saved - in every sense of the word.
